| Description | The contractor and VDOT identified certain construction challenges with this system, including occasional spalling during the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Virginia DOT to demonstrate the use of the PCPS jointed precast pavement system-Super-Slab® to replace a ramp lane leading to US-50 West. Spalling was observed in the slabs after the ramp was open to traffic, but was also noticeable when corners of adjacent slabs were in partial misalignment contact. |
