Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Spouter Geyser is located in the Black Sand Basin of Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin. The geyser's subcircular basin is about 7 x 8 meters in size. Bright white geyserite covers the basin floor and consists in part of low to moderately low mounded, closely-packed columnar geyserite masses. The centrally-located vent is irregular in shape and about 0.5 x 1 meter in size. Eruptions are frequent and usually one to two hours in duration. True intervals (= eruption end to next eruption start) are about two hours. Two principal runoff channels exist - one drains water westward to Iron Spring Creek. The other drains to the north toward Opalescent Pool, then heads west toward the creek.
