English: St. Matthew's Anglican Church at 11100 NE Skidmore St in Portland, Oregon. St. Matthew's was founded as St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in 1944 and was located in Northeast Portland. In 2010, as part of the Anglican realignment, the church left its building and joined the Diocese of Cascadia in the Anglican Church in North America. Around 2017, it moved into its present building (pictured) as a tenant of Faithful Savior Lutheran Church.
Faithful Savior was a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod congregation formed in 2008 from an amalgamation of Faith Lutheran and Our Savior Lutheran, which built the present building in the early 1960s. In 2023, no longer sustainable as a congregation, Faithful Savior voted to disband and give its building to St. Matthew's. The building was rededicated for Anglican worship by Cascadia Bishop Kevin Bond Allen in May 2023. |
