Summary[edit]

Description Detail of the baptistry screen, sculpted by Robert Beall (d.1892) to the design of architect Thomas Ralph Spence (1845–1918). It screens or covers the west wall of St George's Church, Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. The gallery at the base of the screen forms one side of the baptistry area at the west end of the nave. The top part of the screen is affixed to the west wall, and frames the west window and the statue of St George and the dragon by Thomas Ralph Spence.
