Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St Mary's church, Teddington, headstone for "Dorothy Elizabeth Boehm relict of the late Edmund Boehm who died at Hampton Court Palace. January 5th 1812 in her 83rd year". The date should be 1842. She had a grace-and-favour apartment at Hampton Court Palace from 1827 onwards. The Legacy of British Slave-ownership site tells us that she owned 126 slaves in Barbados, receiving over £900 compensation in 1836 when slavery was ended.
