Stamp of Greece; 1896, commemorative stamp of the issue "1st Olympic Games 1896" in April 1896 in Athens; issue of 12 stamps; stamp motive with the "Discobolos"-figure of the arch-caster Myron (lived around 500 - 440 BC); It's giving today at least 6 Roman copies of a contemporary not more existing original bronze-statue (1.55 m high) by the Myron (Classical period of the antique Greek art, ca. 450 BC created); depicted is the copy of London (marble copy from the "Villa Adriana" in Rome); stamp postmarked
