Summary[edit]

Description This set of buildings on State Avenue in Cincinnati's Lower Price Hill neighborhood is made up of a unique set of structures. The red building in the center is a false-fronted Italianate-style rowhouse, with tightly spaced windows and an ornate cornice on the front parapet, as well as an historic stone wall in the front of the yard along the sidewalk, but does appear to be suffering from some neglect, judging by the condition of the porch on the left hand side, the missing part of the cornice, and the bent aluminum awnings. To the left is a late 19th Century Second Empire-style structure that was unfortunately clad in Vinyl siding years ago, which may be a brick structure, and also includes a large annex that was likely built as a storefront in the early 20th Century, which is currently for sale, and hopefully will be bought by someone who will put proper effort and care into renovating the building. On the right hand side is an early 20th Century storefront, built of masonry and painted yellow, which has an odd stone structure attached to the rear that has a doorway onto the public steps that connect State Avenue and Warsaw Avenue, which doesn't appear to be used at present. Hopefully, this set of buildings is preserved, and gets the attention they need, rather than being lost, as they have unique features and are important pieces of the urban fabric on the west side of State Avenue in the center of the neighborhood.
