| Description |
Svenska: Högaltaret i Storkyrkan, Stockholm. Altaruppsatsen i silver skänktes 1652 av riksrådet Johan Adler Salvius (1690-1652) och hans hustru, Margareta Pedersdotter Skuthe (1560–1657). Hon var trettio år äldre än Salvius och änka efter en förmögen guldsmed och borgare i Stockholm, förfäder till ätten Adlerhielm. Silveraltaret har inte kommit till Storkyrkan som krigsbyte, till skillnad från många andra föremål, utan det donerades av Johan Adler Salvius, som var drottning Kristinas närmaste rådgivare. Då värderades det enligt räkenskapsboken till 12000 riksdaler. Silveruppsatsen är förutom i silver tillverkat i svart ebenholts. Det enorma skåpet är tillverkat av Eustachius Erdmillers verkstad i Hamburg och testamenterat till Storkyrkan av Johan Adler Salvius. Han och hans hustru fick som tack gravplats utmed sydväggen för ett stort gravmonument med ett smitt järngaller.
