Description

Auf dem Gelände des Krankenhauses "West" (HELIOS Hanseklinikum, West, Rostocker Chaussee 70, in Stralsund). Gedenktafeln für die Opfer der NS-Euthanasie, neben der Klinikumskirche Stralsund.

"Am Sonntag, den 2. Juni 2013, enthüllten Geschäftsführer des HELIOS Hanseklinikum Stralsund, Dr. Jan Leister, und Chefarzt der Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie, Prof. Harald Jürgen Freyberger, ein neues Mahnmal, das zum Gedenken der Opfer der „NS-Euthanasie“ erschaffen wurde. Auf dünnen Stahltafeln sind die Namen der im Jahr 1939 über 1100 deportierten und ermordeten Psychiatriepatienten zu lesen. (...) Der rostige Stahl symbolisiere die fortschreitende Aufarbeitung und die dazwischenliegende Zeit des Schweigens. Die kleine Schrift der Namen soll veranlassen, näher an die Tafeln heranzutreten und mit den Opfern in Beziehung zu treten.
