Description
Nederlands: Stroopfabriek Borgloon is een museum over de productie van stroop en een fruitbelevingscentrum. De geschiedenis van de stoomstroopfabriek start in 1879. In de daarop volgende jaren evolueerde het stroopstoken van een huisnijverheid naar een industriële activiteit en werd Borgloon het middelpunt van de stroopfabricatie. Vanaf 1960 nam de vraag naar stroop geleidelijk aan af. Dat leidde in 1980 tot de stopzetting. Enkele verdere data: 1999 beschermd als monument; 2005 aankoop fabriek door het stadsbestuur, plus ambachtelijke wijze om stroop te stoken hernomen; 2007 Loonse stroopfabriek winnaar monumentenwedstrijd en verdere restauratie. https://www.stroopfabriek.be/
