Summary
[edit]DescriptionStudent Conservation Association volunteers working on the Prince of Wales mapping project.jpg |
English: The Prince of Wales mapping project is underway with the help of three outstanding Student Conservation Association volunteers from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. These volunteers are living and working on POW until September, taking dominant vegetation information for a newly revised, state-of-the-art vegetation map for Prince of Wales Island and the surrounding outer islands, including wilderness. The information from the vegetation map will provide resource managers better and more accurate information on dominant plant communities and will be an asset to future NEPA analysis, in particular for vegetation management and wildlife habitat.
