Description
English: Venngarn castle, Uppland, Sweden, the castle and garden, engraving by Willem Swidde in Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna, c. 1695. Venngarn's castle from the northeast as drawn by Erik Dahlbergh in 1660 to the Svecia work. The drawing shows the castle just before Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie's conversion. The picture shows Venngarn as it looked before Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie began to transform both castle and garden. The three-storey stone house has Renaissance headboards and painted window frames in the form of clams and fittings.
