Located two miles south of Alma in Farmer Township, Wabaunsee County, Kansas, the Henry Sump Barn lies on the east side of KS Hwy 99, originally part of a 320-acre farm. Sump, a farmer and stockman, raised purebred Hereford cattle and built the existing barn in 1913 to support his operation.
