[edit]DescriptionSundari Chowk Patan Durbar Square Patan Lalitpur Nepal Rajesh Dhungana (11).jpg |
English: A very beautiful, beautiful square within the Patan Durbar Square, the historical site of Lalitpur district. This square is a unique gift of woodwork. No matter how much it is described, it is difficult to describe Sundari Chowk, that is, it is so beautiful. The different arts here have different significance.
This Sundari Chowk was originally built in 1628 as a courtyard building by Duit. Sundari Chowk has gone through different periods while maintaining stylistic features in different time periods. In 1730, the building received an additional floor, special triple beds, windows, and a gallery that screened the courtyard. The eastern facade, which was rebuilt after the demolition of the east row in 1934, is very different from the rest of the building due to the lack of decoration and the use of plain bricks. This is the most beautiful Tusa Hiti of Nepal in the middle of Sundari Chowk. Which is covered with gold. Hiti is surrounded by idols of various deities. There is a stone bed in front of the hiti. In this bed, King Siddhinar Singh Malla used to bask in the sun during winter and meditation. Most of the domestic tourists, foreign tourists, students, researchers coming to Patan Durbar area enjoy this beautiful square and Tusa Hiti. Patan Bazaar in Lalitpur district is famous for its woodwork, stone art, metal art, cast iron and brass utensils. As Lalitpur has been home to renowned artists and craftsmen since the Middle Ages, the city of Patan is full of artistic talents. |
