Summary[edit]
DescriptionSurface Air Temperature Anomaly for June 2022.jpg |
English: June 2022 was characterised by a series of intense heatwaves which affected Europe and the rest of the world, breaking several temperature records. The intensity and frequency of such extreme heat events caused the past month to be the second warmest June on record in Europe, at about 1.6 ºC above average, as reported in the latest Climate Bulletin published by the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). This image, created using data retrieved from C3S, shows the Surface Air Anomaly for June 2022. As highlighted by the darkest shaded red colour, temperature anomalies reached peaks of +5 ºC in Italy and France, and +3 ºC in eastern Spain. The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) regularly publishes Climate Bulletins presenting the current condition of European and world climate using key indicators, including surface air temperature. |
