Description
English: The Swarnim Vijay Mashaal arrived at INS Sardar Patel, Porbandar on 11 August 2021 from Okha. The Flame was ceremonially received by Rear Admiral Puruvir Das, Flag Officer Commanding Gujarat Naval Area FOGNA at a function on 12 August 2021, which was followed by a wreath laying ceremony. The Flag Officer in his address brought out the significance of the 1971 Indo Pak War that saw a magnificent victory by the Indian Armed Forces and the birth of a new nation Bangladesh and felicitated the war veterans and veernaris who had graced the occasion with their presence. The Victory Flame was flagged off by the FOGNA at 0930h on 13 August 2021 on its next leg to Diu.
