Summary[edit]

Description
English: This 3D rendering of an image acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 26 August 2022, shows the area around Lugano in Switzerland. Lugano is a city nestled in the Alps. Its climate is humid temperate, with hot, rainy summers and cold winters. According to projections by the University of Zurich, Lugano could experience very intense heat waves in the near future as a consequence of climate change. Data from Copernicus satellites play a crucial role in monitoring the consequences of climate change.
