| Description |
Magyar: Szilágyi István (1790 k., 1817 előtt – Pest, 1863. augusztus 1.) pesti gombkötő és paszományos mester, Szilágyi Pál színész fivére, a Pest városi kültanács tagja. Az iparos iskolák, templomok, a ferences rend, a Nemzeti Színház számára is több adományt juttatott, végrendeletileg pedig 2000 Frt-os alapítványt tett az MTA javára, hogy kamataiból 10 évenként a legjobb nyomtatásban megjelent magyar történelmi munkát jutalmazzák. 1874-től 1924-ig, a jutalom fennállásáig az Akadémia hat ízben adta ki a Szilágyi-díjat neves történészeknek. |
