Description
English: U.S. Navy flight deck crews aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CV-18) prepare to load a Mark XIII torpedo on a Grumman TBM Avenger of Torpedo Squadron 14 (VT-14), during strikes in the Luzon-Formosa area, 13 October 1944. Note the plywood shrouds on the torpedo's fins and nose. The plane at right is a Grumman F6F Hellcat of Fighting Squadron 14 (VF-14), others visible are TBMs.
