| Description |
Halifax Public Gardens, Spring Garden, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Griffin's Pond, seen here, is named after Frederick Griffin, a young Irishman who was wrongly convicted of murder and hanged on its banks in 1821. Today it's a central feature of the Public Gardens, as well as a stopover for migratory birds. The small white sliver at centre, near the shore of the pond, is a replica of the RMS Titanic, which was "launched" in 1994. Jardins publics d'Halifax, Spring Garden, Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse. L'Étang Griffin, vu ici, est nommé en honneur de Frederick Griffin, un jeune Irlandais qui a été condamné injustement de meurtre et pendu sur sa rive en 1821. Aujourd'hui, il est un élément central des Jardins publics, ainsi qu'une escale pour les oiseaux migrateurs.
