Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1. In 1907, Sumu had come to Taiwan as the head of the insect department of the Agricultural Laboratory. From 1913 to 1916, he studied Taiwanese insects and carried about 20,000 insect specimens to the British Museum for identification work.

2. In 1908, the Museum of the Governor's Office of Taiwan was established. In 1909, the collection of insects was enriched and began to be collected on the island.

3. The insect laboratory of the agricultural test site was completed in 1913. In 1918, the agricultural test site was filled with insect specimens, and the island-wide insect collection was carried out for two and a half years. The specimens collected from the agricultural test site were greatly enriched.

4. In 1928, Taipei Imperial University (predecessor of Taiwan University) was established. Sumu was responsible for the lecture on insect sericulture. This was the bud period of the insect group of the Taiwan University Plant Diseases and Insects Department.

5. In 1930, a set of documents on the collection of insects in Taiwan was kept in the Entomology Classroom of the National Taiwan University and the Applied Animals Library of the Ministry of Agriculture.

6. In 1936, the National Taiwan University of Insects was completed. The National Taiwan Insects Museum is located in the Institute of the Department.
