Description
English: Iron Statues. Song Dynasty, ca. 1094-1098. Iron Man Terrace, Jin Ci

These are some of the oldest iron sculptures in China; the Song dynasty pioneered this iron-working technique (compare: the Yue Fei Temple in Hangzhou). The figures have the appearance of soldiers, with weapons that are now missing.
