Description
Bahasa Indonesia: Takur ungkut-ungkut (Psilopogon haemacephalus roseus) merupakan salah satu jenis burung dari keluarga takur-takuran yang memiliki ukuran tubuh paling kecil (± 15 cm). Selain itu, perbedaan fisik yang paling terlihat dibandingkan dengan jenis takur yang lain adalah hampir seluruh wajahnya berwarna merah. Burung ini umum dijumpai di hutan pegunungan maupun daerah perkotaan yang memiliki Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) seperti salah satunya Kebun Raya Bogor, Jawa Barat sebagai lokasi pengambilan foto burung ini. Seperti jenis takur yang lain, burung ini cukup selektif dalam memilih pohon sebagai tempat bersarang. Biasanya tempat yang akan dipilih adalah pohon yang sudah tua, berkayu lunak, banyak ditemukan serangga atau buah-buahan. Keunikan burung ini saat membuat sarang adalah mereka membuat beberapa lubang pada batang pohon tetapi hanya satu lubang yang digunakan untuk bersarang sebagai salah satu upaya untuk mengelabuhi pemangsa.
