Italiano: Questo obiettivo è costituito da un cilindro in metallo alle cui estremità sono avvitate due lenti montate su telaietti circolari in metallo Da una parte il cilindro è filettato per essere inserito a vite sull'apparecchio fotografico, dall'altra per l'inserimento di un paraluce All'interno del cilindro è inserito un diaframma a iride, costituito da lamelle in metallo La disposizione delle lamelle e quindi l'apertura del diaframma può essere modificata ruotando una ghiera concentrica alla sezione del cilindro Frontalmente lungo la circonferenza intorno alla lente sono indicate le aperture: da f5 a f384.
I teleobiettivi hanno la funzione fondamentale di ingrandire il soggetto dell'inquadratura. L'effetto però non è identico a quello che si otterrebbe avvicinandosi al soggetto, a causa dei diversi effetti della distorsione prospettica dovuta alla distanza fra soggetto e apparecchio fotografico L'angolo di campo è però molto stretto Proprio a causa dell'ingrandimento del soggetto, il teleobiettivo richiede di maggiore stabilità per evitare il mosso ed è quindi consigliabile l'uso dell'apparecchio con cavalletto Questo teleobiettivo poteva essere usato per ritratti o per riprese di soggetti ai quali non era possibile avvicinarsi: fotografia naturalistica, particolari in architettura.
