English: The Temple of Hephaestus or Hephaisteion (also Hephesteum; Ancient Greek: Ἡφαιστεῖον, Modern Greek: Ναός Ηφαίστου) or earlier as the Theseion (also Theseum; Ancient Greek: Θησεῖον, Modern Greek: Θησείο), is a well-preserved Greek temple; it remains standing largely as built. It is a Doric peripteral temple, and is located at the north-west side of the Agora of Athens, on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill. From the 7th century until 1834, it served as the Greek Orthodox church of St. George Akamates. Ελληνικά: Ο Ναός του Ηφαίστου (αποκαλούμενος και Θησείο) είναι ένας από τους πλέον διατηρημένους αρχαίους ναούς του ελληνικού χώρου. Ήταν αφιερωμένος στο θεό Ήφαιστο και στην Εργάνη Αθηνά. Βρίσκεται στην περιοχή του Θησείου, που πήρε το όνομά του λόγω της παλιάς, σήμερα αναθεωρημένης απόδοσης του ναού στο Θησέα. Ο ναός του Ηφαίστου είναι προσβάσιμος για το κοινό, καθώς αποτελεί τμήμα του αρχαιολογικού χώρου της Αρχαίας Αγοράς. Français : Le temple d'Héphaïstos et Athéna Ergané, également connu sous le nom d'Héphaïstéion (grec moderne : Ηφαιστείον) ou de Théséion (grec moderne : Θησείον), est un temple dorique périptère, situé au nord-ouest de l'agora d'Athènes, en haut de la colline appelée Colonos Agoraios. Du viie siècle jusqu'en 1834, il a servi d'église orthodoxe grecque sous le nom de Saint-Georges Akamatès. |
