Description
Español: -afromexicanos de la costa chica de guerrero- En los municipios de Ometepec y Cuajinicuilapa, Guerrero, los afromexicanos practican en algunas festividades la Danza de los Diablos, que posee características diferentes en cada localidad. En su origen, durante el periodo colonial, esta danza era un ritual dedicado al dios africano Ruja, a quien los esclavos dirigían plegarias por su liberación. Al paso del tiempo, se transformó en una ceremonia realizada en fiestas católicas que incorporó también tradiciones de las culturas indígenas de la región.
