Description
English: The Akeley's collection of tusks. In 1906, Carl Akeley, taxidermist at the Fields Museum of Natural History in Chicago, and his wife Delia went on safari to East Africa to collect specimens for the museum. Richard John Cuninghame led the expedition. The image shows tusks from 6 elephants. The single tusk in the foreground is from Carl's first elephant, the two largest were Delia's first elephant
