Summary[edit]

Description

The Bass Rock, is an island in the outer part of the Firth of Forth in the East of Scotland.

Lying two miles offshore from the town of North Berwick it's famous as the home to a very large colony of gannets.

With more than 150,000 Northern gannets it's the world's largest colony.

The white colour of the rock in my photo is almost entirely that of the birds and many more are in the sky at any time.
