Description
English: The effects of climate change are becoming more evident every day. These effects, and their related impacts, extend far beyond a rise in temperature or sea level. According to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, climate change is increasingly damaging some of the UN's heritage main sites. This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 images on 21 November 2020, shows one of the sites classified as " under very high" threat, the Garajonay National Park located in the middle of the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands archipelago. The Copernicus Sentinel satellites are particularly useful for monitoring the impact of climate change on fragile ecosystems around the world.
