This officer had charge of the Modoc prisoners while en route to Fort McPherson, Neb. 4. Doctor Thomas T. Cabaniss, 4th Artillery, A. A. Surgeon. Died July, 1897. Father of Judge Cabaniss of the Superior Court of the city of San Francisco. 5. Capt. James Jackson, 1st Cavalry, now Colonel U. S. A. Living in Portland, Oregon. Second row, left to right: 6. Capt.
