English: The Japanese Ambassadors at the International Exhibition
The Great Exhibition. Illustration for The Illustrated London News, 24 May 1862. The unofficial Japan booth at the 1862 International Exhibition in London UK. The booth was made up of 1500 objects used in daily Japanese life and collected and shown by Rutherford Alcock. The Iwakura embassy who visited the exhibition found the items to be too plain and embarrassing rather than exhibiting the prestige they desired at such an international trade fair.日本語: The Japanese Ambassadors at the International Exhibition(文久遣欧使節団) |
