English: The Opening in to the Narrow Path above the Siri Bolan from James Atkinson's Sketches in Afghaunistan; published by H Graves & Co, London in 1839. Containing lithographic copies in 1842 of Atkinson's originals by Charles and Louis Hague. The publication is a folio of 25 tinted lithographed plates showing the topography and landscapes of Afghanistan and the Punjab creating an important record of what was then an unexplored country. James Atkinson was Superintending Surgeon of the Army of the Indus during the First Afghan War. |
