Ropes for Navel ships have been made at Chatham for over 400 years

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ropes for Navel ships have been made at Chatham for over 400 years. The present Ropery has been used since the 1780s and was improved by Mark Brunel, the father of Isambard. The Ropery is a quarter of a mile long and in the day would have been making ropes of that length for the anchors of the great fighting ships. Today it is still a thriving business, look online for the Ropery, Chatham historic dockyard. Ray B using Nikon D500, A Sigma 17-70 mm lens, ISO 3200 f4, and 1/30 handheld.
