Description I've often seen this place full of pleasant looking Ukrainians, with a big sign sandwich-board sign outside saying "Perogie Dinner $7". I'll bet it's great but I've never gone in. It's funny, I have no trouble at all walking through the ghetto in the middle of the night, chatting pleasantly with the homeless, the drug dealers and the prostitutes, but the idea of walking in to a group of white Ukrainian Christians terrifies me. I won't even deny that it's somewhat racial. I can't but think of the recent European football championship where the Ukrainian fans made monkey noises at the brown players. I know I shouldn't judge them by that. I don't, really. I realize they'd almost certainly be very pleasant. Still, I think I'll settle for taking pictures of their sign at 3am.
