| Description |
English: The picture was taken at the island Langeoog at the Waddensea in North Germany in May 2015. On the picture you can see a yellow-legged seagull. The red dot on her bill is there so her chicks spot her bill better and know where their food is. The Waddensea belongs to the UNESCO- World Heritage and has a wide range of fascinating life. It is significant for migrating birds. Millions of birds stop each spring and fall to feed themselves with the enormous range of small animals the can find in the slick, such as the North sea crab. And also it is a breeding ground for many local birds.In the slick thousands of small animals have their home. If you close your eyes you can hear the animals work in the ground, the sound is called the Wadden-whisper. English: The Wadden Whisper |
