Display Dimensions: 12 in. x 5 9/16 in. (30.48 cm x 14.13 cm) Credit Line: Bequest of Mrs. Cora Burnett Timken Label Copy: "When color was introduced into the printing process during the 1760s, only black, pink, and green were used. For this reason these early prints are called benizuri-e, after the name of the ink used to produce the pink color.The Ichikawa family of actors were among the most prestigious in the Kabuki theater, and its members can be identified by their distinctive crest with three concentric squares."
