On December 20, 1996, the Implementation Force (IFOR) mission came to a conclusion and the 1ST Infantry Division was selected to continue serving in Bosnia as part of the new Stabilization Force (SFOR). This decision brought to close the peace mission of Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR and has been the beginning for the current operation known as Operation JOINT GUARD. The original finding aid described this photograph as: [Complete] Scene Caption: The end result from the blast of C-4 plastic explosive caused excessive damage to the row wheels that had been placed in the turret of the T55 Russian tank, by the Explosive Ordnance Detachment team, on Camp Dobol, Bosnia, during Operation JOINT GUARD. On December 20, 1996, the Implementation Force (IFOR) mission came to a conclusion and the 1ST Infantry Division was selected to continue serving in Bosnia as part of the new Stabilization Force (SFOR).
