| Description |
On a cold day, late automn, in the Verrière woods, close to Paris. In terms of composition, I was interested in the opposition between the light and the shadows. I waited to have dark characters in the center of the picture, to contrast with the light. When post-processing, I made the sides of the picture darker, less saturated and cold, to focus on the warm center. In used the darktable software. I used tone curves to make the sides darker. I used a contrast equalizer filter in clarity preset to enhance contrast on the center as well as the leaves on the left side. I used a soften filter on the right and left edges to decrease the contrast there. I decreased the saturation throughout the picture, and used split toning, pushing highlights to yellow and shadows to blue. Overall, I made this color adjustement to capturing the cold feeling of the forest, favoring thus cold colors. Finally, in the center, I restored warm colors with a color adjustment filter. |
