In one of the finest surviving impressions of this print, the shadowy presence of the ghosts of Yoshitsunes defeated enemies loom in the stormclouds over his ship. Minamoto Yoshitsune (11591185) led the Genji clan to victory in several battles against the warriors of the Heikei clan, also known as the Taira.
