Description
English: In okposi, it is belived that the green snake is their anccestral god... Which they can see some even believed that they can communicate with it....

It was told that the green snake pays a peaceful visit to any family that welcomes a new born baby. This snake is not harmful to anybody and its beloeve that anyone that kills it will have to pay it a last respect in a grand way. This green snake makes okposi people very unique because of what it means for the people

And also In Uturu, the Green Snake symbolizes fertility. There is a Myrth which says that, the Green Snake - "Aka" as popularly called in Uturu, used to appear in a home whenever there is a new born baby. And the Mother of the baby will respond by spreying "Nzu" to it. This tradition according to information shows that the "Aka" is welcomed in the home.

From oral tradition, it is declared that the Uturu People don't kill "Aka" - the Green Snake. The reason according to information is that, the Uturu Green Snake(Aka) is Very symbolic to the Uturu People; a totem which symbolizes fertility or productivity.
