Lion and two French vessels, one of which was carrying 'Bonnie Prince Charlie' en route to Scotland to kindle the second Jacobite Rebellion, 9th July 1745. Signed with initials 'JC' (lower left). The Du Teillay a French privateer ship, commissioned as such in Nantes in 1744 accompanied by the ship ‘Elizabeth’ (L'Elisabeth) was fired upon by HMS Lion, in an action on the 9 July 1745
