Description
English: Theodorus van Thulden was a Dutch painter.

He was born in the Brabant city of 's-Hertogenbosch, where many paintings by him can still be seen. He is closely related to the painter Peter Paul Rubens. Because Brabant was split by the Belgian revolution, there are now 2 parts of Brabant. A Dutch part 'North Brabant' and several Flemish parts 'Antwerp, Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant' The strange thing about painters from Brabant is that they are never referred to as 'Brabant masters', but are always classified as Dutch Masters or Flemish Masters.

Theodorus van Thulden is often referred to as 'Flemisch Master', because his teachers came from Flanders. He was actually born in the Netherlands and worked most of the time in 's-Hertogenbosch.
