Summary[edit]

Description
English: The temperature scale is in degrees Fahrenheit.

Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA).

Bulger Geyser and Bulger's Hole Geyser are in the southern Grand Group of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. Bulger erupts from a vent in a low, gray geyserite mound that has a somewhat blister-like or bulge-like shape. Eruption runoff drains westward, then southwestward into the Firehole River. Some runoff can end up in a nearby drain called Bulger’s Hole, which is a rare geyser. Bulger’s Hole did not exist before 2011.

Bulger's Hole Geyser had eruptions in summer and fall of 2011. A few reported eruptions occurred in 2012. It was dormant from then until summer 2018. Scattered reports of Bulger's Hole eruptions were made from July to October 2018. Eruptions have also been observed in May and June 2019. Some are less than one minute in duration, while others have lasted three to five to seven minutes long. Estimated eruption heights are about 1 to 12 feet.
