Description
This is an image of the ship the Dimsdale which struck the Wonga Shoal lighthouse on November 17th 1912. The lighthouse The two light keepers Henry Franson and Charles McGowan were killed in the accident. Captain John Jones master of the Dimsdale was charged with murder for the head keeper of the lighthouse Henry Franson, the captain pleaded not guilty. After five investigations over a year the captain was found not guilty by the Criminal Courts of South Australia in 1913.
