His head is the size of a quarter! I have NEVER been able to figure out tiny bears, only the 5-22" range. HOWEVER, I saw some listings for miniature bear patterns, and some mini bear fabric (sassy fabric), and thought I should give it a try again. :D I know what my problem was, now! I was using regular mohair before, and lining the fabric with cotton backing, and it still tore to shreds at the edges during sewing. It's the FABRIC! This material is especially for making miniature bears, and I Love it! It's no-fray, and holds together REALLY well! I bought a bunch of the patterns, and they were GREAT for getting an idea of the proportions I would need to use to get my bear to shrink a few inches... but I ended up just shrinking my personal pattern down to the same proportions as the tiny bear from the pattern (I liked more muzzle and bigger eyes, so I have a longer gusset. I still plan to try the patterns... and I need a lot more of this fabric. My littlefees may get some bears after all! :D |
