Summary
[edit]DescriptionTo Shar-kali-sharri, king of Agade, Shaki-beli his servant.jpg |
English: "To Shar-kali-sharri, king of Agade, Shaki-beli his servant"
Bowl Bronze, 2200 BCE; Inscribed with the cuneiform inscription, "To Shar-kali-sharri, king of Agade, Shaki-beli his servant," this bronze bowl was made in southern Mesopotamia. However it was found in Luristan, in Western Iran, suggesting that it was possibly looted in antiquity and brought to Iran as booty or given as a gift from a Mesopotamian king. 30-89-59; purchased from Arthur Upham Pope, 1930 Cultures in the Crossfire: Stories from Syria and Iraq Penn Museum, 2017 |
