Español: Construida por Astilleros Yarrow of Poplar, isle of Dogs, río Támesis, Londres, con el número de construcción 476.
Llegó encajonada por partes, siendo armada en 1880 en Valparaíso. Era una torpedera de defensa de puerto. Tenía las dimensiones apropiadas para ser izada por los buques de la Escuadra y transportada a las áreas de operaciones. Su casco era de acero galvanizado y sus costados estaban provistos de refuerzos verticales con un arreglo especial para entalingar la embarcación sólidamente y poder izarla a pescantes de cubierta o costado. La proa estaba reforzada de modo que podía embestir una embarcación de igual porte o un poco mayor. Se podía transformar en una embarcación de transporte de pasajeros. Durante la Guerra del Pacífico se distinguió en 1880 en los ataques de lanchas en El Callao. En la Flotilla de Torpederas tenía el numeral 2. En 1883 fue transportada por ferrocarril a Puno y lanzada allí a las aguas del lago Titicaca, donde realizó operaciones de patrullaje con una tripulación de dos oficiales y 25 marinos, al mando del Teniente 1º Angel Custodio Lynch Irwing. La presencia de la torpedera en el lago impidió las comunicaciones lacustres y su uso para fines militares. Todas las embarcaciones peruanas que se habían refugiado en Chileyaca, se entregaron a las autoridades chilenas enbezadas por el Coronel Diego Dublé Almeida. Desarmada en 1885. |
