Description

Rabbi Nahman repéra un jour l’un de ses disciples qui se précipitait vers sa demeure.

Il lui demanda : « As-tu regardé le ciel ce matin ? » « Non Rabbi je n’en ai pas eu le temps. » « Crois-moi, dans cinquante ans tout ce qui est là aura disparu. Il y aura une autre foire, d’autres chevaux, d’autres charrettes, des gens différents. Je ne serai plus là et toi non plus. Alors qui y a t-il de si important pour que tu n’aies pas eu le temps de regarder le ciel ? »

Tour à visages du Bayon

Comme temple d’État, le Bayon était au centre d'Angkor Thom, la capitale du royaume khmer. C'est un temple "œcuménique " qui associe l'hindouisme (les dieux Shiva et Vishnu y sont largement présents) et le bouddhisme car le Roi était lui-même bouddhiste du grand véhicule : Mahâyâna. Le Roi et la famille royale étaient représentés dans le Bayon sous forme de bouddhas dans les chapelles entourant la grande tour centrale.
