Description
English: Pete Becola could be found climbing through the brush and searching out areas that normal GTMO residents don’t normally travel.
The article associated with this photo says Becola was a history expert who used to lead hiking trips to Cuzco Wells, the site of the first skirmish in Cuba during the Spanish Civil War. The article describes the hikes as arduous. It states the wells, which are high in the hills, are an arduous hike, even in peacetime.
