Summary[edit]

Description In this diagram the green line shows the yearly ring widths of a 90 years old Pine (Pinus sylvestris). On the Y-axis is the ring width for each year, and on the X-axis the year, oldest, i.e the innermost, to the left. The yearly growth - seen as ring widths - is decreasing when the tree grows older. (This decrease of ring widths does of course not mean that the growth of the volume of the whole tree will decrease)
